At Workforce Solutions Consortium, we are dedicated to empowering family daycare providers and fostering high-quality childcare in home settings. Join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of children and families across our community.
At Workforce Solutions Consortium (WSC), our commitment to family childcare providers is unwavering. We believe that actions speak louder than words, and that's why we are dedicated to showing up for our members day in and day out. Through tireless advocacy, we ensure that the voices of licensed family childcare providers are heard and respected by lawmakers and regulatory bodies. We actively participate in meetings, engage in meaningful discussions, and share crucial information with our members, all while maintaining their anonymity when needed. Our aim is to empower our members with the tools and resources they require for success in the childcare industry. We stand by their side, supporting them in delivering high-quality care to children and families while championing their role as essential partners in the childcare delivery system.
Workforce Solutions Consortium (WSC) is not content with merely existing; we strive to make a resounding impact. We believe that our members' voices deserve to be heard loud and clear in the corridors of power. Through active engagement in legislative and regulatory arenas, we advocate diligently for the interests of licensed family childcare providers. Whether it's partnering with organizations, participating in rallies, or organizing advocacy days, we ensure that the concerns and needs of our members are at the forefront of discussions. Our collective voice reverberates as we work to shape policies and practices that promote high-quality childcare and fair compensation for providers. We are more than just an organization; we are a catalyst for change, amplifying the voices of those who nurture our children's future.
At WSC, our commitment doesn't end with advocacy; we follow through for our members. We understand that change requires persistence, and we are dedicated to staying the course. After attending meetings and engaging with regulatory bodies, we continuously follow up to ensure that the concerns and questions of licensed family childcare providers are addressed comprehensively. We provide ongoing support and resources, equipping our members with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive in the ever-evolving childcare landscape. Our vision is not only to initiate change but also to see it through to fruition. We stand beside our members every step of the way, ensuring that their voices are not only heard but also acted upon to create a brighter future for all.
Research consistently demonstrates that young children thrive in warm, loving, and home-like settings. Family childcare is a popular choice for many families because it offers the safety and comfort of a home environment while ensuring that a child receives care from a consistent caregiver/educator over the years.
The family daycare home setting created in family childcare homes is especially beneficial for younger children and families with multiple preschool aged children. When you see the WSC member indicator, it signifies a family childcare program that offers secure and inviting spaces, alongside warm and nurturing care. These spaces are designed with educational activities that cater to the unique needs and interests of every child while promoting individual development.
One of the key benefits of family childcare is the presence of a consistent caregiver. In a family childcare home, children are cared for by the same caregiver regularly. This consistency fosters strong bonds between children and their caregiver, which, in turn, positively impacts their social and emotional development.
Family childcare homes often cater to children of various ages, creating a mixed-age group. This setup offers children the opportunity to learn from and interact with peers who are at different stages of development, further enhancing their overall growth and learning experiences.
Family child care providers are early childhood educators. They provide high-quality early education and child development services in a home setting, and are expected to have the same education level as other early childhood educators.
We need to ensure state and federal lawmakers hear loud and clear that childcare and early learning must be a top priority with significant, sustained funding in the upcoming reconciliation package. This is a make-or-break moment, and we need you to use your voice to help advocate for family childcare.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission.
